Day 9 - Yilai and Cilai

Another day of sightseeing, hiking and enjoying beautiful Taiwan. As Miaoli is the strawberry capital of Taiwan, Yilan is a spring onion capital of Taiwan.
This is the entrance to the Spring Onion Museum in Yilan:
This is a shop that sells everything made from spring onion: biscuits, juices, wine, ice creams etc.

Ice cream made from spring onion, sweet with a real spring onion taste.
A restaurant that has all meals made from, you guessed correctly, from spring onion. We had some pancakes. Even though it sounds strange, but they were delicious, unless your pancakes have to be with nutella.
After all this hard work, back to hiking:

A fallen tree as a result of the last typhoon:
We also visited Chiang Kai Shek's resort in Cilan, Yilan County:

You have to remove your shoes before you enter the residence (good excuse for a short break):

After this, we went to one hot spring hidden spot, where we enjoyed eating boiled eggs, corn and drank tea compliments of the friendly locals. They even let us in after the closing time as they had never seen a foreigner visit  that place. The place is called Cing-Shuei Hot Land or as not many people know this place, the closest place is Luodong.

Current temperature of the spring water is 83.7C
Someone enjoys food and someone hot water:
Don't worry, hot water is mixed with cold so we can enjoy some feet soaking.

George is checking some therapeutic properties of hot, sulfurous, spring water:

Nearby lake and a popular fishing spot:

All this hot spring water made us hungry and there was another visit to a nearby famous Luodong night market:

My favourite night market snack: ice cream with nuts shaved in a pancake:
